After three weeks of dedicated care at the WFFT wildlife hospital, Wang, a wild long-tailed macaque from a local temple, successfully recuperated and was released back to his habitat.
Gibbons back on the forested island at WFFT
After almost 3 years we have now moved the next group of gibbons ready for release back to the wild onto our biggest forested island at the WFFT wildlife rescue center.
The largest island, build in 2001, can house up to a dozen gibbons, but the current inhabitants, 5 in total are the ones that live in a group and qualify for release as they are all healthy and strong with the right mental spirit and natural behaviour.
Please see the photos of the island, the gibbons in the forest climbing the trees and exploring and foraging.
